When you sit or lie down, your foot feels fine, but, then, when you stand up, yikes! Heel spurs also tend to feel better if you've got shoes on, walking barefoot is the worst. The pain is also just as bad when you first start to walk as when you've been walking awhile, unlike other foot pain which tends to be not much at first but worsens with activity. When I went to the orthopedist with my heel spurs his first question was, "When you get up to use the bathroom first thing in the morning, do you hop all the way there?" According to him, an affirmative answer to that question was all he needed to make the diagnosis. Doing an online search for plantar fasciitis will give you lots of exercises to try which really do work if you do them. Doc Sharon .
