Piggybacking with my own "has he ever seen it" question: how about sleep apnea in cats? (Our vet hadn't heard of it, when I asked him at Willow's last visit.) Willow does this thing in her sleep, every once in a while (though I'm sure she's done it other times that I haven't seen), where she either has stopped breathing - although she doesn't gasp, like one would expect with apnea - or is so sound asleep that her breathing is just very slow, and her body goes eerily limp (like, dead-cat limp). Never fails to scare me when I notice it, but she always seems perfectly fine - if surprised by the fuss - when I shake her shoulder. .
