Subj : Trouble For All Ages To : alt.tv.er From : darrenthornton Date : Fri Sep 30 2005 00:45:06 From Newsgroup: alt.tv.er Did this episode age us more than one hour? We saw that life can start out rough, and stay that way. Who else expects more from this show? In some ways, it was an improvement over last week. But they still have a ways to go. Laura Innes directed. She could have made a cameo. Sherry was gone too. How many episodes didn't include any of the original cast members? Was this the first? Either way, that's sad. TPTB missed a great opportunity. There's a song called "Nobody's Baby." I've heard Dean Martin's version. However, it's a love song. Maybe it would have worked for our soap opera. Once again we get tension between Luka and Sam at home and work. Will that vacation get Luka off for 2 weeks? Go during the hiatus! Who paid the repair bills? Yea to Sam and Alex moving out! Couldn't that put Alex in another school district? (After Katrina, many kids got moved to different schools, often in other states.) We got another scene at the basketball court. Did Fake Alex walk there, or use the bus? He has zero chemistry with anyone. Either bring back Real Alex, or write him out entirely. Remember Corday's recommendation for Rachel. Or try a third Alex. Sam can mention him occasionally. The young doctors are still a mess. Too bad TPTB didn't work out part-time deals years earlier. Maybe a few of the old gang would still be around. Note that George appeared on a competing program. One thing's certain. Maura is best at comedy. We got a funny scene at the el. Always treat people nicely. Also wear flats. We also got a funny scene with Luka. The super doc thing's getting old already. But she was right. It's possible that the boy didn't know the reason for the diet. Maybe Abby should go into pediatrics. When would they choose specialties? We don't see that many specialists anymore. Like school teachers, all residents have their own style. Shouldn't there be some consistency? Decide on the rule number one. No wonder those students are so confused. Where's Morganstern when you need him? Ray was once again the restless maverick. Does he get a commission on C sections? Would a judge issue a court order in such a case? Sam was right about telling of the risks. To be blunt, breathing can be risky too. Would he even be allowed to help with the birth? It's a wonder the OB/GYN was that patient. I'd thrown him out a lot sooner. Doc Sharon should address the risks of forcep births. (My dad once had to forcibly remove a dead baby from a goat. Sadly, the goat was paralyzed in her hind legs. She died a few months later.) I would love to see Dr. Hicks deal with these whipper snappers. Shouldn't some other doctor have spoken with the surrogate family? They would probably still have some legal responsibility. If the baby thrives, look for a custody war. At least Ray redeemed himself at the end. Which cast member should adopt the baby and leave? Morris remains a jerk. I'm part Cherokee myself. This guy probably got banished from the tribe. Spare the flames! When will we see his fall? At least it keeps him away from patients. Neela remained the picture of professionalism. She's probably the most likely to punch out Morris. Are we going to get new students every week? Pratt finally spent time with his dad. Did we need that parallel story with the mom and estranged daughter? Who else finds this storyline offensive? I'm white. It seems like the absentee father is more common among African Americans, at least on TV. Apparently the dad got things right the second time around. Tony Orlando wrote in his book that he tried to avoid tensions between his son and his second family. Many celebrities seem to forget that first family. At least these folks were open to Pratt being part of their lives. I hope that we see some development here. This show could use a dose of some old blood. Get at least two former cast members back on a recurring basis. Hopefully we've seen the last of creepy Jake. Did TPTB ever plan to take that storyline any farther? Where were the desk clerks? Chuny did good. Danny Glover should have been in the season opener. Hopefully next week will get better. Or hire whoever complies the trailers to write the full episode. Sincerely, Darren Thornton .
