Family bed was not a choice for us either but if I fell asleep while nursing, no big deal. It happened more with the second and third than with the first whom I usually nursed sitting upright in bed rather than lying down. While I slept fine with them in bed with us, I couldn't sleep at all if they were in a crib in our room. I found that out the first time we went to my parents and shared the room with our 2 mo. old daughter. I could hear every movement, every breath, and it drove me crazy. At home they always had their own room. Gabby .
