I asked a Scottish friend about James Doohan's Scottish accent when he played Scotty on Star Trek and wondered if Scotsmen all cringed whenever he spoke. He said Doohan's Scottish accent was not realistic but that no one he knew was offended by Doohan's efforts. Rhino .
