Sounds like your cousin's wife had some weird problems. IF she wasn't aware that children over 6-12 months also need solid foods she was poorly educated about parenting -- something that has nothing to do with breatsfeeding in and of itself. (Where was the pediatrician when all this was happening?) ALso, probably the reason the child was such a 'lousy eater' is that she wasn't getting ANYTHING to eat. You can't force a child to nurse, so if she refused to let the kid have solids AND the child really didn't want to nurse, the child wouldn't have had much of anything to eat. Naomi .
