The squick factor here, to me, was not that the kid appeared school age or was asking for it, but that Mom was making a public scene about how she had a feed her son/keep him hydrated whatever by breast when he's clearly too old to be taking all of his nourishment from mom. There is a small minority of women who breast feed their kids for comfort reasons at ages 4,5,6 etc and thats certainly fine, but I doubt a six year old child should still be primarily on the breast nutitrion wise, which is what the freaky mother was implying by her rant about not being able to feed her son. .
