Don't ask for Too many details because I don't use XP but I understand it does support "Drive Mapping" which is similar to the old SUBST command in Dos, which still works well even up to Win98SE. Basically it allows you to rename a directory path as a drive letter. i.e.. Using SUBST I rename my C:\GRAPHICS\PICTURES directory to P: and C:\TEMP to another letter to simplify copying files to and from them. Again, I don't know about XP/NTFS for sure, but can't you get a utility like Partition Magic that can add a partition or several to your drive without losing any data ? If I recall, P-Magic 8 or better will work with XP - but verify that before trying it or spending money on it.. Not sure but Possibly a trial version would let you make the changes you want before the trial period expires and you can decide later whether to buy or not.. I tend to avoid long filenames to make that work better but there are DOS utilities that will work with and retain the long filenames as well. --- þ SLMR Rob þ Yesterday I thought I was insecure, now I'm not so sure þ þ PDQWK 2.52 #17 --- þ BgNet 1.0á12 ÷ Capitol City Online * KY * 502/8758938 v34 * cco.ath.cx .
