Indeed, I seem to get along without them nicely in Linux; but Linux has ways to make this easy, including shell scripting that's really capable without bei ng as verbose as COBOL, and symbolic links, and being able to execute scripts in numerous languages without calling up the interpreter specifically. Most of all, there's the '~' to refer to one's home directory. In Windows, however, I've never been able to work well in a DOS prompt without drive letters and a RAM disk. Long directory names and deeply nested dirs are a real pain to refer to. How do you keep your productivity up? I'm really interested in suggestions. --- þ Synchronet þ Bauding House .
