The soundcard isn't listed as an option. And the box is greyed out to show on
the taskbar. I'm going to try another pci slot. But I've got some good news.
I just attached a better monitor and another keyboard to my laptop, and am able
to play my mohaa game alot better online. It's a dual boot, so I can enjoy
slackware on a much bigger monitor also.

I'm almost certain that the soundcard on the win98 sytem is good, (i can play
cd's through it no problem), it's just a configuration issue. On the same
system I wasted a day and a half trying to configure (under linux) a bad
ethernet card.

Thanx for taking the time to respond, and soon I will try another pci slot.
