Subj : Win98 Sound Issues To : LORD EROS From : ROB MCCART Date : Tue Oct 18 2005 21:01:00 LE>Well, I can play cd's no problem. SO I assume there plugged in correctly? >I don't have the option of my soundcard in the Audio section. I'm going to tr >a differenct pci slot, then I'll try the DirectX Diagnostics. I appreciate th >time you people are taking to help me. If it's not even an option then Windows can't be even seeing it on bootup. As you say, it could be a bad slot but I'm not sure with CD's playing directly. Might be a driver issue but if Windows can't see it it also won't load a driver. Does it show up in Device Manager ? With or Without a (!) ? If a sound card shows there it may not hurt to remove it and reboot and let Windows try to find it again.. If you got a driver CD with the sound card that Might override whatever Windows is trying to do and put the right drivers in.. Hard to say via remote control..
