Yeah, but until whatever alternative energy source is settled on becomes readily available to me in the middle of nowhere, I *need* fossil fuels. I never said I want them or that I'm addicted to the exhaust fumes or anything, but I do very much need a way to get to and from work for considerably less money than I make while at work. Currently there is no other solution except fossil fuels for me. Until there is some other solution, the answer is to find me more fossil fuel. The concept of "No, we will no longer allow you to work because fossil fuels are dirty and running out." is insanity and not at all an acceptable answer. People have been researching alternative energy for decades (in fact, gasoline was an alternative energy at one point, so I can say centuries) and nobody has ever developed anything that works as well. If the price of gasoline goes up too far, I'll settle for a coal-fired steam vehicle. When we run out of coal, I'll burn trees. Come up with something else that will do the job and I'll use it. But until you do, leave me alone to burn whatever I like. Investigating something isn't any kind of answer, it's a way to find an answer. It's a fascinating belief that anyone will "loose" if/when an alternative energy source is developed. there is so much money to be made developing one that anyone who has a viable alternative energy scheme (except for oil companies... possibly... maybe...) could not possibly to anything but have a licence to mint money. Just seeing new pumps to the existing gas stations would be a multi-billion dollar industry. I just wish conspirisy theories wern't so addictive to Americans. --- þ Synchronet þ ``Penguins make tasty snacks'' .
