yes it is. I suspect that if the public had that info their business might
decline.

Hit the EDITORIAL page of you paper and see what others in your area think.

I know that in the week folowing 9/11 that many stations had jumped their pump
price. That was to be expected. But a few here and around the state jumped
several dollars and that is known as war profiteering. The sate sent
(published) a letter warning of continued price gouging would start
investigations. They all dropped their prices, of course. I don't think any
other follow-up was persued.

However if you have the choice and the info, most people will choose wisely.
