Well let's think about that.  That would mean no roads.  So I guess we'd 
have to go back to riding horseback.  

No police force, so everyone would need to be armed, and capable of 
protecting themselves.

No fire response, so you'd have to count on your neighbors assistance 
should a fire break out.

No public schools, so educating your children would now be your own 
responsibility.  (Note- this might not be a bad thing.)

No government.  Hmmm.  No laws.  No military.

I think we would quickly be assimilated.  Any guesses as to which 
country's military would get here first?
