Blah blah blah. Nah. I've been doing that, and it just seems to make you ornery. Go back and take a look at the facts I've already cited, do a little reading, and stop asking stupid questions intended to misdirect people into thinking mine's a lonely voice in the wind criticizing the federal preparedness and yours is the echoed words of god in your ears, bouncing off your brain cells and into this network to spread wisdom only you're privy to. Tell you what... For your sake, as far as you're concered, we'll just pretend there wasn't a standing request/demand for $250 million more than was allocated to shore up the levees and pumps that failed because there wasn't any money in the budget that wasn't already being sucked up by Iraq, so you can go ahead and be as right as you want in that little FrankWorld of yours. And we can pretend that even though natural disasters have been loudly and consistently cited as the biggest and most likely possible threat to the US for a LONG time now, it made oodles of more sense to pour ridiculous amounts of money into terrorist prevention and bombing the hell out of Iraq. Oh, and rolling FEMA into Homeland Security, redesigned not for preparedness for natural disasters, but for terrorist event preparedness, stripped of its teeth, and supported by an Army Corps of Engineers that the administration was dedicated to under-funding. And what the hell... I'll even pretend to give a crap what you say on the matter in the future, though you don't seem to read more than MAYBE 10% of what I type and seemingly NONE of what I cite, because you seem to want to be right SO badly that you only have to live and work in DC and, therefore, have no need of references or facts or anything like that anyway. *shakes head* you know... You bitched that you don't have the time for point-to-point conversation. Well, then you're in the wrong communications forum, pal, 'cause that's what a BBS is, you know. It's not like debating you is proving to be much of a challenge, either, frankly, Frank, so yes I've got all kinds of time for it. I'm going to move any further discussion on the matter into the debate sub after today, though. But if the point-to-point thing is too hard for you, send me an address where I can send you an AOL disk. I'll even throw a few thousand hours free in on top of it, because I think you may just find yourself in a more comfortable niche there and I think you're such a swell guy and all. i think a friend of mine might even have a WebTV setup laying around somewhere. Maybe that'll prove more your speed. In the meantime, I stopped addressing this topic your way a few days ago, so do me a favor and "turn me off" like you promised so I don't have to keep reminding you what a petulant child you're acting like.
