No, it's actually quite simple. I've got better things to do than waste my time going tit-for-tat on this, and it's pretty obvious you don't. It's also obvious you don't give a crap about the truth, and your sole goal is to make political hay out of a tragedy. For four decades, New Orleans levee funding was universally recognized "pork" here. If you go through the records without your blatant agenda, you can find thousands of similar "dire needs" projects that were not funded because of budget priorities. Pick your next tragedy -- tsunami in Hawaii, drought in the midwest, etc. -- and I'm guer-un-teee you will find an amendment with a concocted solution that *could* avert the inevitable tragedy! If we funded them all, we'd have already built a glass bubble around the country! You know -- A billion here, a billion there... soon you're starting to talk about real money, right? If you don't recognize that's how things work here, you're either being entirely disingenuous or you really are an idiot (and I'm starting to feel it's the latter). However, if you're finally willing to set aside your political agenda and cite the *entire* historical record of levee funding and appropriations, regardless of the political bent du jour, we might be able to have an intelligent conversation on this. I highly doubt that; but, until then, you and Blumenthal can circle-jerk each other, and the rest of us will wait for reputable sources to straighten the public record. --- þ Synchronet þ BBS Doors (www.bbsdoors.com) .
