Subj : Bushisms To : All From : Deuce Date : Sat Sep 03 2005 02:36:00 Yes, this is out of context, probobly outdated, and Bush has probobly apologized already for it. I tend to not pay any attention to internal US politics, and I generally (now) ignore anything Bush says. However, I was stunned when I stumbled across a quote at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,168203,00.html#cool The quote that had that effect on me was this: Still, Bush told ABC-TV: "I'm not expecting much from foreign nations because we hadn't asked for it. I do expect a lot of sympathy and perhaps some will send cash dollars. But this country's going to rise up and take care of it." It completely flabergasted me. I'm not quite sure which way to take it... is it a "We don't need anyones help" or a "Yeah, we help the heck out of other countries, but we expect them all to be completely thankless and not help US out when we could use it" Either way I can't wrap my head around it. I mean... I don't know, I just don't get it. Granted, I stumbed on this quote after I already knew that Canada was sending four ships and three helicopters (Though I think the HMCS PRESERVER should be sent too... though it may be in Afghanistan... not sure... heck, not even sure if they managed to fix the electrical problems with her yet) --- þ Synchronet þ ``Penguins make tasty snacks'' .
