You piggy-backed onto Finnigan's partisan attack and cited Blumenthal's editorial without the least concern for its accuracy or veracity, which is very analogous to the right-wingers citing Rush Limbaugh in their crusades. You believe you have many good reasons for disliking Bush (and you may well have), but that doesn't give you carte blanche to latch onto unsubstantiated partisan editorials simply because they further bolster your low opinion of him. Had you researched its accuracy, you'd know that ZERO (none, nada, zilch) improvements have been made to the New Orleans levee system in nearly two decades, including during the eight years under Clinton, and that those funds for levee research and improvements are like myriad other pork barrel projects that suffer from the ebb and flow of shifting bureaucracies. Now, if you had thought outside the partisan box and postulated that a Replubican congress reduced that particular pork barrel grant because the governor is a Democrat sitting in a seat they felt they should have been theirs in the last election, you would have been more on target. However, how that lands in Bush's lap is beyond me. Blumenthal's an idiot like Limbaugh... You're best not to take anything they say or write at face value. Here's a snippet from a review of his "The Clinton Wars" from "The Village Voice", of all places: -- "'The Clinton Wars' reconstructs a history so selective that it calls into question Blumenthal's veracity on almost every point." --- þ Synchronet þ BBS Doors (www.bbsdoors.com) .
