Canada has enough sitting in the oil sands to provide north america all by
itself until at least 2060.  If the US chipped in a few gallons, and Canada
continued pumping out of the ground, we're good for another 20 years on top of
that.

Currently demand outstrips supply... that's why the priced are going up...
that's how commerce works.
