  My girlfriend and I rode to Columbia, SC from Toronto, ON the long way.  No 
toll roads, through the mountains etc.  The ride took us 28 hours (including 
gas / rest stops) and we were fine UNTIL the second half of the second day 
(2 14 hour days).  In each direction around hour 20 it was PURE HELL!  We'd 
stop at every rest stop, get gas every hour, just to get off the bike.  We've 
since bought the skeepskin's and now we're good until about hour 26 so it's 
only the last two hours that make us want to hop off into traffic.
