   This is true, but it probably can't be done in one swift stroke so we'll
   still need crude till we can make the transition. I've been thinking about
   the hybrid cars but man thats twice the maintinance. A gas engine AND an
   electric motor with associated charging and switching gear. I also wonder
   how often the batteries would need to be replaced and how much that would
   cost. Before these other sources of energy or ways of doing things can ever
   hope to suceed they must become affordable.
