Because it's more expensive, it's required half the year here in AZ, and prices go up because of the more expensive mixture... If you wanted to run pure ethanol, it is more expensive than processed gas is... Okay, was more expensive up until earlier this year it seems (just looked at some pricing indexes to make sure).. the rise in gas, and lowering of ethanol has changed things up it looks like.. On the flip side, what about meeting current fuel demands, which is obviously not there currently. Also, it's my understanding that the milage you will get out of even a higher alcohol/ethanol mix is much lower than gasoline, which means a greater cost per mile than gas, even with the newer pricing. -- Michael J.
