  *nods*  Which is EXACTLY why GWB has said more than once that we'll be in
Iraq so long as he's in the White House.

  He can't afford us to pull out before his term ends (more precisely, his
political party can't).  To do so would guarantee a Republican defeat,
hands-down, in the next election and bring all kinds of accountability down on
people it would be politically inexpedient to have in the cross-hairs of a
populace collectively going, "Holy shit - what have we done?"
