Hi,

Broke down today and picked up a ICOM IC-T8A - The reviews for it are mixed, 
most people are having problems with the battery clip, and battery life - But 
over all I like it, got it for a desent price, It's a 5 watt or .5 watt - 
Triband - 6meter, 2meter, 70cm - And I have been able to hit a couple of the 
440 repeaters that are about 15miles away - so I guess that is a good thing.

I may still decide that I want something else - but for now I think this will 
work - and as a bonus - I can use it as a police scanner if I wanted to -- I 
guess that is kind of an expensive scanner thou! :)

Just kind of wanted to give everyone an up date on my search for a radio -
