At least I can have a conversation with some intelegence, right, Frank? FV> The real question to me is; Why is there a group AAA and a group BBB FV> to have a problem with each other to begin with? Well, Frank. The answer is.... Long ago, back when Nodes and Nets were restricted by long distance charges (note: not geographical rules), it was easy for one person, in the right place, to gain control by telling a group of Nodes or Nets that s/he would offer better connections and give guarantees of service. Since connections were not so easy to come by and s/he had a means to provide service, this was appealing. Now, this person gathers a few other people together and manages to become the major source of mail for a fairly large group. S/he gives the "few other people" a name such as AAA and they go to the sources of files and mail and expect to get a direct feed from these sources. Of course, that is granted because Group AAA is a major supplier of mail and files and to not grant the top level access could cause many to not receive the mail and files. (of course, this wouldn't happen, but the perceived threat was there). This was possible because there was no inexpensive way to connect. Others see this and follow suit. Then there are several groups that have their little piece of the pie and they maintain it via that "perceived threat". Enter the Internet. Suddenly, anyone can connect to anyone else and get fast, efficient, inexpensive file and mail feeds from anyone willing to provide. This is a major concern to the groups who have had the luxury of being the "top dogs" for years. Not willing to give up the status, Group AAA and all the other groups try to force issues and other actions to maintain their "top dog" status. They still believe that they should get the direct feed from the top of the food chain and see anyone that tries to move them as an enemy to be dealt with. With this being built up over years, is it any wonder that this poor dog's legs are going in different directions while it's rear end is trying to feed and it's head is.... well... er... you know.... and the nose of those that might like this dog are put off by the smell? What must be realized here is that groups do not exist in the capacity that they once did except in the minds of those that were once part of these groups. True, there can be groups, but the fantasy that there is any power or control is just a fantasy. Does that explain this whole thing better, Frank??
