That's what the files are HERE for... to get distributed. The fact that you people seem to think you need a redundant feed is not my problem. > Why don't you explain what these technical problems were. He has more > bandwidth avaiable than yourself or any of your "hubs". He couldn't help with this. From the first I told Matt there might be problems since I monitor activity on my system very carefully. I can understand that.. I can give you a feed but I'm afraid it will be very slow.. I feed so many people now.. What do you think about this: I'll hook you up here, and if it gets intolerable, or there are problems because of the number of people picking up here, I will contact one of my direct downlinks (I have some really trustworthy people here) and have them feed you.. sound ok? I have an ADSL line, but the problem is that when you get one or two cable modems connecting and picking up their traffic, bandwidth drops really badly. That and when I get 4 or 5 people picking up at once, the bandwidth really stinks as well. =======cut here=== ===cut here msg 2 to Author of bbbs=== Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2001 15:29:25 -0400 (EDT) From: janis kracht To: Kim Heino Subject: Bad echomail bundles.. These are messages my system packed for his system even though they should not have been packed for his system :(. I've also included my echomail area configs for these particular message echos in badechos.cfg (also in 4kim.zip) so you can see how I have nodes listed in my external.bbb for these particular message echos. Do you see anything in badechos.cfg that would cause this problem? I cannot see anything I should change.. Thanks, Janis ==========cut here=========== ===========cut here msg.3======= Date: Sat, 1 Sep 2001 22:54:25 -0400 (EDT) From: janis kracht To: Matt Bedynek Subject: Problems... Hi Matt, I've got some problems with bbbs and all the activity on my system caused by all the feeds I have.. When bandwidth is really tight weird things are happening.. I contacted the author about it, but haven't heard back from him yet. Figuring that maybe I could ease some of the activity that happens at the same time, I tried yesterday to move your tossing of files from every hour, to once every 3-4 hours hoping that would take care of the problem.. but it didn't. I then changed it to every 8 hours, hoping that would take care of it.. So.. What I'm thinking is it's best for me to move your link, as well as a few others, to one of my downlinks. I've got a really reliable fellow with great bandwidth who picks up here from me and gets the whole load of files.. He's a really good guy, and I've moved a few links there already. ====cut here=== ====cut here msg 4.=========== Date: Mon, 3 Sep 2001 17:07:59 -0400 (EDT) From: janis kracht To: Matt Bedynek Cc: Phil Kimble Subject: Connection change Hello Matt! Phil Kimble, one of my downlinks, is ready to take you on.. He's got you configured in his binkd setup and will be contacting you shortly. Probably best for you to turn off the file echos here after you two are set up. Take care and thanks, Janis =======cut here==== =======cut here msg. 5====== Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2001 02:31:38 -0400 (EDT) From: janis kracht To: Phil Kimble Cc: Matt Bedynek Subject: disconnect for Matt Bedynek Hi Phil and Matt, FYI, I've removed Matt from my configuration tonight. But, oh well. "A" Sunday night maintaninence would have caused serious problems here Matt. I sent you two ICQ messages last night when I saw the problems here were still occurring, and more so. No response from you though.. In any case you should have let me know of your plans and I would have told you then.
