You may have; I did. DC> I'm sorry, but we are all supposed DC> to be mature adults around here. If someone says they are going to DC> notify the correct people, it certainly doesn't mean that a DC> semi-interested third party needs to get involved and notify everyone DC> in addition. Oh. An established mail hub with several downlinks says that he's quitting Fidonet; this hub is a member of your distribution system and you're (Dale's) only "semi-interested"? I would call it a "major concern", especially since the downlinks were hung out to dry. We are mature adults and as such should not consider a quick note to the RC regarding Jerry's quitting beneath us. "I spoke with (got an email from, whatever) Jerry today, he said his system had a hardware failure and he's not going to rebuild it. He said he's quitting Fido. This note is sent just in case he doesn't follow through with his intention of notifying you." Gee, *I* don't feel any pain over typing that. DC> As for my system routing through to Jerry, that was because I had not DC> responded to Dale's note and didn't realize that Ross' netmail was set DC> to route through Jerry. Hmmm? *Now* it becomes *very* important that Ross be notified, doesn't it? I mean, what with your comncerns about netmail routing and all. DC> Had it not been a R18 RIN that I was sending DC> to, it would have taken a completely different path. Normally I will DC> start shifting my routing around a system I suspect of going down DC> soon, which I had done somewhat with my connection to Jerry, but had DC> left 1:18/*. Your system's configs were not in question. the question, AFAIC, is Dale's error of omission and general lack of cooperation. JY>> I must admit, however, that I admire your honesty. DC> Is it really that difficult to believe the best in people and that DC> Jerry would follow through when he said he would contact the people DC> who needed contacting? Of course not; it's also easy to believe that the same person might not follow through, having considered himself "finished". DC> As a former Z1B member, Ross had access to DC> the same contact list that you had. Geez, David; how long are we ex-members supposed to keep that list? DC> Yet it is Dale's fault that Ross DC> didn't call or find out why one of his downlinks wasn't 'kicking the DC> box' on a timely basis? "Spirit of cooperation" David. --- McGuffey's Reader GoldED UNREG * Origin: (1:3613/1275.1) .
