you are absolutely right... in fact, i've been known to make decisions that 
were detrimental to myself simply because i did not agree with the alternative 
that would have been beneficial...

  ie: as a database programmers, i was asked to create
      an application that would automatically dial
      phone numbers from a central database, connect
      the call to an available human, and log the
      results of the call to the database. when i
      realized that i was being asked to create a tele-
      marketing war-dialer, i immediately declined. if
      i had gone on to write this software, i'd likely
      have a bank account with money in it. as it is,
      (and completely beside the point) i won't have
      a bank account.
