Subj : File, file; who's got the file To : Janis Kracht From : Paul Williams Date : Fri Aug 31 2001 08:24 pm Hi Janis Kracht, hope you are having a nice day JK>See, now that's not fair.. I can't get you on using "Hi" since you follow JK>it with a real sentance It's not like we ever let proper punctuation stop us. >> Have to dig around in the msg archives. Somewhere I've got >>a recipe for a sinus cleaner. You sniff up a drop or two and >>a few moments later (after they peel you off the ceiling) whatever's >>stuffing them up comes out. JK>eew ... Wouldn't be rose water, would it? My Mom used to use that when As w/ the msg to Jack, the one I ran across in the quick search uses garlic. Somewhere though is another msg w/ a mix of things you use. JK>she was really young.. before Dr's "knew" what sinus congestion was . JK>I use sudafed or the steam from boiling salt water.. crap, even choping JK>onions work Amazing what you do when your head is plugged up with JK>seasonal stuff Used to live in NE OK way back when & from abt the end of july to the start of dec I'd be stopped up & even wake up w/ my eyes glued shut. >> The only way I access them from other than here is by qwkmail on >>that system. The only one I've actually posted from was 114/635 in >>reply to some that never made it here and in echo's I can't get here >>on (i guess) the Z1B. JK>Ok, qwkmail wouldn't affect things.. I was thinking you might be in their JK>echomail tosser configs for those echos, as well as another system's JK>echomail tosser configs. Not these days. Way back during my early point days I was getting mail from 3 diff bosses here in N387. ( the good ol days of 12hr mail reading sessions) >> Not that I haven't *thought* abt linking up mind you w/ all the >>shenanigans a lot of hubs seem to want to play, but the dupe bit >>did run across my mind so... (durn cleats left me w/ one doozey of a >>headache too) JK>Well, the thing to do is to pick one site where you get the echomail from JK>via that system's echomail tosser and it "should" be alright . But I JK>take it you're doing that now. Uh huh. Though just how all right things are upstream from the net I'd say is questionable. The net changed feeds from S.Star way before John shut down, but barely a week after he left the mail went down the tubes from my pov. Z1_Backbone for ex. went dead and most of the rest of the ones I get the traffic was easily slashed in half. To add insult to injury, I can see mail reach 114/635 before it gets here and there's more hops for it to get to /635. :< >> Won't matter in a couple months or less though as I'll be getting >>a cd filebase archive & it'll have up to whatever's current. JK>Hmm...that's interesting Who is making this cd? Cd's actually. I swap files w/ the sysop at /635. I send him what I've picked up, he adds that to what he's gotten & burns the whole thing to cd's and then sends me a copy of the set. Right now the guesstimate is around 12 700meg cd's for this coming set. Add that to the commercial cd's I've got here like NO24 and most of the shrewarevault series and... =8o >> More histe/orical archives. ;> JK>Reminds me of one of our past FileGate HUBs - he has tapes containing JK>every single file released on the FileGate from day one :) I luv my 4mmDAT. :> >> You mean you have a 8x1k core memory module and spare nixie tubes? >>(btw could you use a reel of .5in tape?) JK>Lessee.. we have reel of music on tape that can't be played anymore .. Reel to reel recorder, got a `portable' Webber. JK>plus I'm sure like many people, an amazing number of system and peripheral JK>carcases Heh, 1 full tower, 4 mini's, 5 fried monitors... ;> -=> Yours sincerely, Paul Williams <=- ....
