maybe many of us simply configure the software to use what the originators of 
the FDN want us to use? it doesn't bother me or my system, in the least, if 
there are 10 or 5000 areas... the files are in their own areas for a reason...

  ours is not to wonder why...
  ours is to do or die...

areas are added and removed over here all the time and i rarely have to worry 
about it...
