Subj : File, file; who's got the file To : Dale Ross From : Jack Yates Date : Sun Aug 26 2001 03:55 pm DR> Lets see, you claim that you are not a member of the NAB. Yet you say DR> that you can call Ross if you have a problem but yet your only means DR> of communicating to the Z1B is to come here. I am not a member of the NAB, true. I *am* an NC and have had an open line of communication with Ross since he was elected R18C 4 years ago. We don't find it necessary to confine our conversation to coordinator matters, we also discuss echomail and routing, among other things. And, I don't always call Ross because I have a problem. Addressing issues with the Z1B is best done in their admin echo because of your Democratic structure; when I type a message to one, I'm typing to all. DR> So how many of these 40 downlinks have complained? Exactly what is DR> their complaint? When you told them that the file was information DR> only, information just like the other files in BACKBONE (EXCEPT for DR> the executable that was hatched), why was that not enough? Is it DR> because you hatched the file in a NEW FDN that they knew nothing DR> about and this brought the file to their attention? If I did such a DR> thing I am certain that I would hear from one of my downlinks. The first complaint came the second or third week that you hatched the file in BACKBONE, the rest of them afterward. Their have been no complaints from my downlinks since I moved the file to another FDN. That was a crude try to foist the blame on me but it ain't gonna work. What you are doing here is turning what I had hoped to be a rational discussion into a pissing contest and I'm not interested. I'd prefer to end this discussion here and now because it's obvious that you aren't interested in what I've typed and will accept nothing without extensive documentation; your remarks in a previous post regarding the lack of abilities of the SysOps who complained or question your routing chart indicate to me that any names named will be held up to ridicule and I shall *certainly* not permit that. I suggest that some of my downlinks are deleting IRNROUTE, you say that end nodes are free to do so if they wish. I advise you now that not all of my downlinks are end nodes; some are feeding other nodes too. Further, I will restate it would be in the best interest of the Z1B to cease hatching IRNROUTE in the BACKBONE FDN and rellease it in the Z1Bs own FDN. This will insure distribution, as opposed to deletion by those who receive it and don't want it, including various mid-level hubs. I hope that some of the members of the Z1B have the presence of mind to see this. If not, I'll fix it on this end. --- McGuffey's Reader GoldED UNREG * Origin: (1:3613/1275.1) .
