Subj : Your problems with the ZEC echo To : Marc Lewis From : Ross Cassell Date : Sat Jun 30 2001 05:15 am Hello Marc! 30 Jun 01 09:06, you wrote to me: RC>> This begs the question as to why Dale was trying to extrapolate RC>> that this was the fault of your uplink (Bob Juge) or some sort of RC>> seenby issue? ML> Methinks perhaps that really wasn't the case, Ross. I think Dale ML> knows that Bob's service to me has been virtually flawless; Bob Juge is as political in nature as the Pope is Jewish, the messages I saw Dale post seemed to indicate that he was hinting at an issue with Bob as you uplink because Bob Juge is "NAB" and another comment "the other side". Seems Dale thinks he is the only Fidonet sysop in this hobby? I take great umbrage at this type of innuendo simply because at the core it is "classic John Souvestre", while John S did alot for the hobby, he did alot to divide it as well and there is no room for Dale to continue that cause, this is not the Dale we knew before he was handed title and responsibility in the z1b. In the hypothetical, had I been your uplink and Dale made the same comments he made about Juge, while he would have been wrong then, I would have understood him making those comments. Simply because I am very guilty of feeding Dale alot of grief and perhaps in the hypothetical Dale would use the opportunity to push my buttons as payback? Juge on the other hand has not fed Dale any grief and is very very quiet. His comments about Juge had some innuendo in them, nevertheless, perhaps your affirmation of Juges service to you will discourage Dale from this in the future? ML> the ML> "seenby" issue though still lingers in many minds as being in the ML> "foreground", even if it was a screw-up. Mind you, NO judgements ML> implied by this! This seenby issue is one dog that has been beaten to death, so much so that I am surprised the Humane Society or the ASCPCA hasnt intervened.. They should be the last ones to speak of credibility as long as they themselves hide behind a anonymous committee. RC>> One thing to consider here, a while back the ZEC echo was IIRC RC>> taken off the Z1B for traffic reasons, perhaps 387/770 has a much RC>> older backbone file? ML> This is very possibly the root cause. (Doug, are your backbone.* ML> files up to date?) A logical conclusion, especially based on another message you posted stating who was linked in on your system? == Ross http://www.the-estar.com:8080 ross@the-estar.com or rcassell@home.com ICQ = 5305939 ....
