Several of our systems have recently undergone motherboard, BIOS, and CPU chip upgrades. Those which we _can_ upgrade. Two are now running Cyrix MII at 233 mHz, one a Cyrix 6x86mx Pr200 at 166mHz, one (the node system, actually) an Intel Pentium at 166 mHz, one an Intel Pentium MMX at 233 mHz, one an Intel Pentium II at 266 mHz, and one an unknown cpu chip at 600 mHz. Three different operating systems on the above systems, with Windows98 being the major one, augmented by Novell Dos 7 and Linux. Then there are the three AT&T 3b2's that probably can't be upgraded at all; and the Motorola 6800 and 6809 systems that are now so antiquated, they, too, probably aren't worth the trouble of even trying to come up with an upgrade; the Zenith laptop; and the IBM PC Convertable which, in the last move, we have unfortunately mis-laid the power supply for. Can't count the two maxi tower systems that currently haven't even got disk drives in them, or the many replaced and now outdated motherboards... mmmm.... that's over a dozen operational systems at this site. Interesting... hadn't realized we had that many... too bad all these improvements aren't paralleled by a decent internet linkage, but that's what we get for prefering to live where the neighbor's dogs may bark all they want but are too far away to be heard... PW> Trust me, keeping things straight can sometimes be a bear. PW> One little screw up and Yup. --- Platinum Xpress/Wildcat! v1.4c * Origin: Pogo's (1:361/1) .
