No one approaches the English for arrogance and self-congratulation, except
possibly the French.

Read the lyrics of "Hail Britannia" (sp?), which was - IIRC - written not
long after Trafalgar.

Arrogance is endemic.  Its expression is all that varies.  You can read it
in this echo every day.
