Not really so stupid when you think about how it came about, Todd. We had no active IC for a while, and then a period of no IC at all... Who then would produce the diff? All in all I think it's a good idea having each ZC be responsible for creating and distributing of his or her Zone's diff file. The chance that each zone will produce a different nodelist is slight since each ZC submits a new segment weekly and all of the ZCs then receive each other's segments. We each make our nodelists out of the same parts - the copyright statement, and other informational text might be different, but that's it.
