This is why I use email to update mine.  Not only is it cheaper to do, you
get an ack almost instantaneously (well, within a few hours).

There's a little known method of leaving your update ack on hold. You'll
have to ask Thom if it's still a feature and how much time you should
allow before you call back for your ack.  Personally, I'd update via
email.

When I was using POTS and FD, I had a file they call 'comma something or
other' which had everyone's name that I contacted regularly with their
node and email address in it.  FD interprets that file and sends everyone
listed within that file, email in lieu of netmail.  One of these days,
I'll play around with IREX and have it do that too.

It's easy....in the first line of your update file (you do have them in
text format for ease of sending) put this line;

FROM andrea's@emailaddress.xxx

Or use my example, below.  I've always had success with this format, so I
know it works.  (now watch Thom pipe up with a problem I had had with one
of my update sessions)

I meant that it was silly of him to do so.  Whoever's interested in the
workings of the elist, will already have at least two of these echos
turned on.Although he claims that the ECHOLIST echo is for his postings
only, I've seen replys to querys and other messages there.  I'm sure that
if he wished to have BQ's input, he'd allow him to post there.
