You can confirm via email if you like. Pretty simple reason, Andrea. The robot looks at the address of the person sending in the update. If it comes in a netmail, the cofirmation leaves as netmail. With over 1200 echoes in the database, I am not about to send out confirmations via crash mail. If the MOD UPD message comes in via email,the robot sends the confirmation message via email. So, if yoiu have a problem with routed netmail, you can either: A. query me if you don't receive a confirmation or B. Submit your updates via email.
