In theory, it should make not one iota of difference to the zone hubs. Point to ponder: to get traffic to a net, it is only necessary that a node attempting this know WHICH zone hub can/does feed that net. One need not know, at all times, every single hop any or all mail may take. Especially since it may take one route going and another getting a reply back to the sender. A simplification of Region 18's list occurred some time back and seems to have had no effect upon the efficacy of routed traffic within or into the region. Of course, one reason may be that, unlike 10 years ago, R18 is now less than 100 nodes and still shrinking. There are other alternatives than the one I suggested. One of which is that changes be posted here and only when it is deemed necessary (ie, several changes have accumulated such that the last hatched routelist is badly out of date), hatch a current list. Aside from the change of your node number and some dropped nets, there has essentially been no change in the routelist for months. --- Platinum Xpress/Wildcat! v1.4c # Origin: Pogo's Place (1:361/1) * Origin: Baddog BBS (1:218/903) .
