This indicate a desire to join Fidonet and not knowing how or where to go. He gave his location in Florida. This give us an idea of where he lives. He said "I think net 229 any input would be great" "Think" is the key here. It indicates a sense of not knowing and re-asks the question of where, along with a desire for input, indicating a request again for direction and "where". His tear line indicates a Synchronet BBS. This does not mean that he runs a Synchronet BBS since some tosser programs re-tear the tear line. Further indication of this is the origin line. It indicates that he sent the message from 1:103/705 which is in Region 10. To be exact, 705,Vertrauen,Fullerton_CA,Rob_Swindell, the author of Synchronet BBS. This indicates that he logged onto Rob's BBS to send this message and not that he runs a Synchronet BBS. What all of this seems to indicate is that the man is asking for someone tell him who to contact for a node number and how to get a node number. The fact that he gives his location might indicate that he wants a node number in his local area. The fact that he is sending the message from the Synchronet author's BBS might indicate that he wants to be in a net with other Synchronet BBS. His mention of Net 229 might indicate that he desires to be in Net229. The fact that sent from a Synchronet BBS in California, gave his location in Florida and mentioned Net 229 might indicate that he really doesn't know much about Fidonet but wants to learn. None of this is an absolute except that he wants help, direction, a Node number and an echomail feed. So, I might have been incorrect in my reply. I should have said that his location indicates that he would be in Region 18 instead of informing him that he "was not in Net 229". My apologies in that area. The point is: He is interested in and asking for help. Arguing over where he is to go is not giving him help.
