Maybe you don't but I know a lot of people that have to.. RC>If I reboot the system, its usually because I installed something, either RC>hardware, software or both which would require such. From time to time, I boot RC>the machine with a DOS bootable diskette to create a CD image of the system RC>drive (I tape backup the other schtuff). Yeppers good house keeping. Anytime I get a beta update it usually requires a re-boot. But I know people who have to re-boot to just keep there system running as there software is either unstable or non windows friendly. RC>I have this help to, the family is instructed to power the systems down RC>gracefully if the power goes out beyond 5 minutes.. All UPS's here are rated RC>between 15 to 20 minutes runtime, that is if I am not here and they are RC>instructed to power them up should the power return. I am in the market for a new UPS my UPS of 7 years the battery is finally giving up the ghost... Will have to look for a new battery for it or may invest in a better UPS one that shutdown's the system gracefully.
