There are significant differences in how one handles broadcast
messages and how one handles ones with a specific recipient.
One reason Planet Connect will not (CANNOT!) handle netmail
routing for thier customers is due to the nature of their
broadcast delivery of mail. George Peace's bulk mail service
could was similar, but he wasn't putting it up on a Telstar
that covered the whole danged northern hemisphere!

The blurring of differences between a netmail hub, a filebone hub,
and an echomail hub are neither total nor complete throughout all
of Fidonet. Never have been, AAMOF. One cannot assume too much
without incuring consequences that may be potentially dire. You
might give me a netmail linkage with your system, Al, but woe be
unto me if I then send you netmails with half-a gig files
attached! Pee4 notwithstanding, there *IS* a difference between
simple netmails, netmails with echomail bundles attached, or
netmails with distributed FDN files attached.

The pity is that this lession has to be repeated over and over to
newcomers who haven't figured it out yet and get their panties
all in a wad when someone tries to educate them to the nuances
of this hobby.
