ECC> Thank you. ECC> ERN Charting Committee Technically, I am still the central point of entry for net 218. As you might have noticed. Net 218 is basically internet only nodes. Feeds for echoes are electable to anyone's favorite feed. Node 1:218/907 and I (1:218/903) get our feed and echoes from Brenda. Matt Munson has several feeds and stays connected here for our admin echo and routed netmail is functional both inbound and outbound. Any netmail for John (1:218/907) is forwarded if it comes in or if nodes like Matt want to communicate with John. Again Matt has the option here to use netmail and if it comes thru. It's functional and seem less as routed netmail should be. John and I have always liked being connected as close as possible to a "Star" feed and netmail to what use to be the central point in fido. Also gated netmail from fidonet.org had both good and bad points. As time and spam from fidonet.org was very functional. It also created complaints from nodes like Rich and Jonathan that they would rather not have it forwarded to them. Their downlinks and private feeds would also get spam and nodes that were long done from net 218 ended up here. While you appear to be overly concerned about the remaining nodes. Rich Lockyer (1:218/704) has asked to be a private node and gets a feed via ftp from Gary Gilmore for the guitar echo. Again I have an account set up to forward any routed netmail to Rich's dedicated ftp server if traffic is received. Jonathan Hart 1:218/1001 is the only node doing POTS and while he keeps the BBS online with a dedicated data line in a spare closet of his home. The BBS is basically on auto-pilot. Anyone can connect to his BBS via a FTSC connection and mail will exchange. I can't get him to respond via netmail. Technically, I can't remove him if he mets the requirement in policy 4. I don't remember hearing about your appointment as an ERN Charting Committee officer? Your use of the seen-bys doesn't always reflect that the nodes will do routed netmail the same way it does echoes. Sure in a perfect world you might think so. But Fido is far from that. Personally, I would use my time a little more wisely. Al Robres Net 218 coordinator and REC for Region 10 ~~~ ReneWave v2.00+ --- Renegade v05-11 Exp * Origin: Email: rec10@linkline.com (1:218/903) .
