Unless its a refugee situation like Nick Andre, you bet your sweet bippee myself checks with the responsible parties first and the r18 NC's do as well Aside from that, I am talking about a situation 2 years ago, you would have known this if you bothered to pay attention? In this situation, Michael Wendell was a node that lived in Charlotte NC, that Todd listed in NET 345. Back then if you had taken all the nodes Todd had listed in NET345 that didnt physically reside in Hawaii, Todd would have been the only member of that net. So yes, he was going out listing nodes willy nilly to make NET 345 look viable. Getting back to Wendell, Wendell said he tried to contact both me and Dale Ross, myself as the R18C and Dale as the local NC. He said he got no reply, there is no way in hell he netmailed me and I know Dale well enough to know that he would not have ignored a netmail from any prospect. To Dales credit, he was a fine NC and has worked with me in picking up a few stragglers from nearby nets that went unviable, including Bobby Queen whom was in net 3667. So I am led to conclude that no attempt on Wendells part was made to contact the local folk, and no attempt was made on Cochranes part to steer Wendell to Dale or myself. If you dont believe me, just ask Dale, he was equally miffed at the situation. If an attempt had been made and he was brushed aside or otherwise ignored, then I would not have blamed Cochrane, however Cochrane was merely stuffing his seg with anybody he could find. Yes, when in doubt lets get these people a node number, but give the local people first crack at it, if that fails then go ahead. == Ross http://www.the-estar.com:8080 ross@the-estar.com or rcassell@home.com ICQ = 5305939 ....
