Different circumstances, as I recall.  Michael claimed to have attempted
contacts and discussed this in one of the backbone echos.  Todd and
Michael may also have been connecting for another Network.  They met up
through the Wildcat! channels.  At the time, Todd was also set to lose
his Net, the last one in Hawaii and, weighing the positives and
negatives, it seemed more important that Hawaii maintain a Net.  We had
already lost the last Alaska Net.

-> 229 folk tried to hook up with the responsible parties and received 
-> no response, but thats too easy.

Welp, Dave is claiming that these out of area IP nodes either weren't
getting responses or responding "don't bother me" to contacts. 

And since there is no way in hades Jack would ignore such contacts or
tell the person to bug off, it's clear, at least with the GA node, that
no effort was made to direct this node to where he belonged.
