Why would it be? The only reason a fido would P4 is to mark their territory.

Once this is complete, fido goes back to sleep and we let sleeping dogs lie.

The next prospective fido to wander along finds the territory carefully marked 
with lots of P4 and finds a sleeping dog as an NC. At some point no amount of 
barking will get the nodelist updated, so the puppy gives up and walks away.

The end result? Fido ends up slowly going to the dogs. Life's a bitch, eh?
