Subj : alternate routing chart To : Carl Austin Bennett From : Michael Grant Date : Sun Apr 22 2001 03:34 pm Hello Carl. 22 Apr 01 09:50, you wrote to me: MG>> Echomail Roiuted Netmail has absolutely nothing to do with an MG>> echomail feed. Have you been regularly reading the routing charts, Carl? It was a mere month ago that this net's ERN path was listed as 1:140/1 => 1:134/1, now it's listed as 1:140/1 => 1:3613/1275 => 1:134/11. If you'll notice, that route was /confirmed/ by the REC, Bob Seaborn. How can this have occured if Bob hasn't updated things in half a year? CB> Is there some reason why you'd want uselessly outdated data listed? Is there some reason why you want to find fault in a region's preferences, when you are not a member of this region, and have no business poking your nose into it's affairs? CB> And why has he reacted so negatively to the creation of an alternate CB> list? He did not react to the creation of the list; he reacted to you placing his node number in said list without asking him first, and he reacted to using a file echo meant for other purposes to attempt to distribute it. IMO, his concerns are vary much justified. You don't just go around hijacking file echos for your personal use, especially when you don't even have the courtesy to ask before you use it. MG>> Keep ASSuming as usual that Region 12 knows everything there is MG>> to know about everyone else's business... CB> When your REC demands in a public echo that one of the listkeepers not CB> distribute any routing info at all for your region, he does leave the CB> question open to be posed in this same echo: Why? He didn't demand that. Our region's routing info /is/ distributed, in the official Z1 Routelist as released by the ZEC. Our REC has authorized that information to be added to that list, and to *that list ONLY*. He has NOT authorized that info to be put into any other list. I'd fed from R19 from end-1999 right up until JohnS decided to CB> shut down and never had a problem. Cut to the chase; did or did not your former REC, Ken Wilson, cut off an entire net in Region 12 from ERN services and distribution of regional echos because of a dispute over payment for an echomail feed? This is a very important and relevant point, for it is the *exact* thing you have suggested that /our/ REC would do. It's easy for you to sit there and smear one's name, accusing them of things of which you have no proof, yet when your arguments are turned around on you, you avoid any straight answers. Bob /does not/ tie echomail payment to ERN services and distribution of Regional echos, and never did; yet you have accused him of such, for no other reason than the fact that you and other people in Region 12 don't like him. --- GoldED+/386 1.1.4.5 * Origin: MikE'S MaDHousE: WelComE To ThE AsYluM!
