It's also free in Poland, Belgium, The Netherlans, The UK...
but sometimes the mail doesn't work...you take another free one...
normally you have to call a few hours a month to them or you have to get a new 
account(by surfing to them and filling in a loooong questionary)... sometimes 
they don't offer pop3-mail but just webmail...all in order to keep you online 
or even letting you call more often (broken lines)...
they get their money by the banners, by the phonecompany, by marketing 
agents,...
