As a lawyer, I'm not about to accept the proposition that "it's incumbent on me to request its removal via both backbones". Neither my predecessor or me asked the Z1B to carry this echo and the Z1B could remove it when the NAB was advised to remove it. After all, they only distributed it as a result of splitting from the NAB. AS> They did. As simple a means as you have with the NAB. You post a AS> message in their *backbone echos and request removal. The reason AS> it became "difficult" for you is you didn't know you had to do AS> this. I'm sure you also could have Netmailed the request to a Z1B AS> hub who would have forwarded it into the Z1BACKBONE echo if you AS> didn't wish to carry that echo. If you still moderate any AS> backboned echos, you probably should carry both echos. The first Z1B hub I netmailed told me he was getting out of the hubbing business so I still had to netmail John Souvestre. In any case, this was never a Z1B echo and was only carried by the Z1B because they had split from the NAB. That being the case, the announcement to the NAB should have been enough to end the Z1B's involvement with the echo.
