I did look in echolist and see 4 areas with +- this purpose (1st
for general use, but "only" allfix sysops, 2nd-3rd cloned areas for
FDN *Cs sources, not to repeated announces by in-transit systems,
and 4th for general use as 1, but any fileecho processor)

1. ALLFIX_FILE
     File Announce Conference for ALLFIX Users
           This Conference is dedicated to allfix users who want to
          announce the arrival of files from FDN distributers. This
          provides public information on updates between the Sysops
          that are available for FREQ and where. This echo also provides
          access to the Sysops using Allfix for questions about the
          program which are not available elsewhere. Files that are
          not available via FREQ from distribution systems is not
          allowed. ALLFIX is Copyrighted by Majik.Net and Dale Barnes
          Status: Active

2. FDN_ANNOUNCE
     File Distribution Networks Files, Info, & Links
           Files Announcements from FDN Headquarter Systems. Automated
          posts by moderators permisson only. File Announcement Distribution
          Messages are placed in the Echo by FDNs, File Distribution
          Network Coordinators Headquarters or Authorized source only.
          Permission must be obtained by the moderators prior to any
          posting of Automated messages. General posts are by SysOps
          but the the echo may be carried online for users as ReadOnly.
          SysOps may post looking for files by posting in the echo
          NO ALLFIX Queries are permitted!! High Ascii is OK!!

3. FILE_REQ
     FileEcho Announcement Echo
           The oldest and original conference for the announcement
          of files released via the various File Distribution Networks
          (FDNs) on the FileGate and Filebone.  File announcements
          are allowed by FDN coordinators as listed in the current
          FILEGATE.ZXX and FILEBONE.NA listings (or by other moderator
          authorized sources).  Everyone (FDN HQ or not) should obtain
          permission -prior- to beginning announcements in the echo.
           The echo should be "read only" for systems not authorized
          to post announcements.  Please,  -no- Allfix (or other file
          finder) queries/responses in the echo. If you want to know
          what's new, this is the only echo to read.

4. FIDO-REQ
     Conference of posting new files
           This Conference is dedicated to users of file processors
          such as seal, nef, filemgr, tick and others to post new
          files that are received with *.tic file arrivals
