I have created new tags for some old Macintosh echoes that I am the moderator 
for.  Some of these old message areas are active on groups of systems even 
though they were dropped from one or more backbones some time ago. Others lost 
their moderator  and connection when the backbones were split, and became 
inactive.  I changed the names to unify the naming stucture and clarify the 
subject material: - Some of these echoes had underscores originally and others 
did not.  One echo, SYSTEM7, was named after a legacy OS version which is so 
old that it may be unrecognizable as  being Macintosh-related to newcomers to 
the Macintosh platform. (The operating system versions were formerly offically 
known as "System N.m", but the vendor has changed  the names to "Mac OS N.m" 
when N and m are the major and minor version numbers.)

I intend to drop the old tags after everyone who may be on one of the systems 
that became unlinked from them (but are now getting linked traffic due to 
reconnection with the backbones) had been given a chance to migrate to the new 
ones. The ELIST descriptions for each of these echoes describe this but gave a 
date of 06-01-2004 for deletion of the old tags. It has taken me longer than 
expected tooget them on the backbones, so I have extended that time to 
10-1-2004.
